Recently, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars introduced the ‘Miami Collection, Six of Six’.
This is a superb selection of three models that, the automaker said, in an official press release,“reflect the light, sunny and breezy days of Miami”, and also three more cars that “represent the reflection of the moon over Miami and the evening sparkle that provokes this magical city”.
And I couldn’t agree more in both statements.
The streets of Miami, sun-bathed by day and neon illuminated by night, are a perfect companion for the beautiful models produced by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.
Before I continue, I should thank the fine people over at the Southern Automotive Media Association, for inviting me once again to the ‘Topless in Miami’ showcase, where Rolls-Royce Motor Cars introduced the collection.
The collection is made up of the Dawn, Ghost and Wraith models.
This irresistible trio is available with two-tone color exterior finish of Carrara White over Latte, in the sunny part of the collection; and with Rolls-Royce Dark Indigo exterior for the night part of the bunch.
Now, all three vehicles are staples of the brand’s luxury and classy elements, and I had the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a superb 2019 Rolls-Royce Dawn, a four seat luxury convertible. Here’s my overview about it.
Maybe this is a naughty way of saying things, but what can you say about its behemoth of an engine? It has lust for the roads, lust for speed… it just has lust for life, as Lana Del Rey and Iggy Pop put it in their respective songs.
We are in the presence of a 12 cylinder, 6.6 Liter, twin-turbo ‘giant’, paired to an 8 speed shiftable automatic transmission.
It boasts out 593 hp @ 5250 rpm of pure power and 605 ft-lbs. of torque @ 1500 rpm. Its top speed is rated at 155 mph.
This, dearest readers, its raw, lustful, passionate and pure power, not for the faint of heart.
Its fuel economy, predictably, is also not for the faint of heart either, reaching 12 miles per gallon on the city and 18 mpg on the highway, and a combined estimate of 14 mpg, so, have this in mind when you are deciding if this beauty fits your needs.
Interior and equipment
Generally speaking, the interior of the day cars of the ‘Miami Collection, Six of Six’ feature -as Rolls-Royce Motor Cars puts it- “Seashell leather with Oatmeal and Dark Spice accents – accents include a Bespoke two-tone steering wheel in Dark Spice and Oatmeal”.
Also, “the interior woodwork features Open Pore Royal Walnut throughout, including fascia, doors and rear deck of Dawn. And of course, the hand fitted leather seats are heated, ventilated and feature the Rolls-Royce front-seat massage”.
On the other hand, talking about the night cars, “the Interior is appointed in Sunrise leather with Purple Silk accents”, and “Mimosa Negra Open Poor veneer has been hand-finished for the interior woodwork”.
And just to name a few of the accessories included in the 2019 Rolls-Royce Dawn, it offers active cruise control, adaptive headlights, an infrared night vision camera, a head up display, keyless access, driver’s memory functions (such as storing the preferred steering wheel position), an 18 speakers audio system and much more.
A seductive, exhilarating car, the 2019 Rolls Royce Dawn checks all the boxes within the carmaker’s standards. Beautifully crafted, powerful enough to ‘devour’ the roads and generously equipped, it’s a must have for the fans of the brand or for those seeking the ultimate luxury and power in a convertible car.
