As innovative as always Toyota, through its Scion brand brings us the 2013 Scion iQ which is agile, modern and a driving thrill like no other (rhyme not intended).
According to that useful and hip tool called Wikipedia “the Scion name meaning the descendant of a family or heir refers both to the brand’s cars and their owners”. This time we are not going to talk much about the brand owners but we’ll mention the already growing legacy of the plethora of ways that the iQ has to please you.
As you know or could expect, the iQ is an small car But as Vincent Van Gogh once said, “great things are done by a series of small things brought together”, a statement that faithfully describes this car. Let’s see why.
Despite its petite size, the Scion iQ goes big in more than one way. The words ‘fun’ or ‘joy’ could be the first adjectives that jump into your mind when you think about this vehicle but truth to be told its practical capabilites make it stand out from its peers. It takes turns and u turns just like that (insert snapping sound here). It fits in almost every parking space imaginable. It has TWO rows of seats (really, not joking) that don’t sacrifice at all the confort of the passengers that decide to occupy them and above all, it unmercifully fights the gas stations taking care of your wallet with a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine, that produces 94 hp and 89 pound-feet of torque, offering 36 miles per gallon in the city and 37 mpg’s on the open road.
The engine is mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) a standard feature.
Oh, and the fact that it is available in just one trim level does not stop it of being well equipped. Full power accessories 16-inch steel wheels, keyless entry, air-conditioning, a leather-wrapped tilt steering wheel, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity and a six-speaker Pioneer sound system with HD radio are just a few at the features that you’ll enjoy in this car (and let’s not forget that if you ask your Scion dealer he or she could hook you up with some extra items like foglamps or interior ambient lighting)
Stability and traction control, antilock brakes, front side airbags and front side curtain airbags, just to mention some of the safety features of the iQ will make your ride a secure and ‘peace minded’
