Clock is ticking. Our planet’s health is a matter of preoccupation. We have to take a stand… a green stand.
Each of us has to play an active role of doing what is right for our world, since there is only one… and one of the ways that Chevrolet takes part on this is the Bolt.
This all-electric subcompact hatchback started its production on October 2016 as a 2017 model, and since then, it won Car of The Year on several car publications, and it was even listed in Time Magazine’s Best Inventions of 2016.
Now, the 2020 Chevrolet Bolt ups the ante for all electric vehicles out there, with an EPA estimate range of 259 blessed, greenish, electrifying miles of range on a full charge. If that does not impress you, nothing will.
Listening to the consumer
“The Bolt EV set the benchmark for long-range, affordable electric vehicles, and we’re excited to raise the bar by offering nearly 10 percent more EPA-estimated range for the 2020 model year,” said Tim Grewe, director of Global Battery Cell Engineering and Strategy, on Bolt’s official press release. “At Chevrolet we’re constantly listening to customer feedback and we heard the desire for more range”.
And listen they did, since, he added, “the team worked diligently to find ways to improve battery energy, giving customers the confidence to go more than the extra mile.
Equipment-wise, we have a couple of trims at our disposition.
Under the hood, both trims offer the exact same 66-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, providing energy to an electric motor that reaches 200 horses of pure power and 266 lb-ft of torque.
Now, a 10.2-inch color touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, keyless start and ambient interior lighting are some of the amenities for the first version, the LT.
The second version, the Premier, brings stuff such as heated rear seats and a surrounding camera system.
And, obviously, there are a bunch of goodies distributed in optional packages, don’t forget to check them all.
Behind the wheel
Do not underestimate this small wonder: Just because it is ecofriendly, does not mean that it does not offer punch, because it does. Plenty.
Just take it to the road and you will see: You will have enough muscle for passing and lane changing on the highway, and steering and transmission both respond seamlessly, like buttha
A modern automotive asset, the 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV will take care of your wallet and will take care of the planet. Will take care of you and everyone around you being what it is: A green wonder.
